Description

In its normal form, baking soda is a fine crystalline white powder with a sour, soapy taste that reacts with acids. Soda is sodium bicarbonate (lat. Natrii hydrocarbonas), an acidic salt of carbonic acid and sodium. Other names: sodium bicarbonate, tea soda, baking soda, sodium bicarbonate. Chemical formula of baking soda: NaHCO3.

Usage:

Sodium bicarbonate (bicarbonate) is used in chemical, food, light, medical and pharmaceutical industries, non-ferrous metallurgy and daily life. It is registered as food supplement E500 (ii), contained in food supplement E500:

In the chemical industry - for the production of dyes, foams and other organic products, organofluorine compounds, household chemicals and fillers for fire extinguishers.
In light industry – in the production of rubber for shoe soles and in the production of artificial leather, leather tanning and neutralization after acid tanning.
In the textile industry - for finishing silk and cotton fabrics.
In the food industry - in the bakery, in the production of confectionery and carbonated drinks.
In medicine - to neutralize chemical burns of the skin and mucous membranes caused by concentrated acids and to reduce the acidity of gastric juice.
Traditionally, baking soda solution is used to disinfect teeth and gums in case of toothache and also as a helpful remedy for severe cough, sore throat and pharyngitis.
