Growing soil
The size of the rhododendron planting hole is 30 cm deep and 40-100 cm wide, depending on the planned location and plant size. When establishing a planting area, it is important to take into account that the roots of rhododendrons branch across the width and not deeply. It is recommended to line the planting hole or planting area with a carpet on both the sides and the bottom. Separation is certainly necessary in the case of alkaline growing media or by establishing a planting area close to large trees. In soils where the soil reaction is acidic, ie the pH is below 5,6, a smaller planting hole can be made and no separation is required. Suitable for 50 to 300 liters per plant.
Conifers when sitting, the width of the planting hole is 2-3 times larger than the root ball of the plant to be planted and the depth of the planting hole is 50 cm. Soil consumption 2-3 bags per plant. Blueberries, rowans, heather, ericaceous soil consumption of 5-20 liters per plant
Soil improvement To reduce the alkaline soil reaction, mix 0,5 to 2 bags / m2-1e of rhododendron and coniferous soil on the existing growing medium.
