Description

PELLETS

Pellets are of high quality and calorific value. Pellets are a valuable and environmentally friendly wood fuel and the raw material used for its production is a 100% renewable natural resource.
Pellets are a local and completely renewable energy source that is also affordable. As environmental awareness has risen, more and more pellets are being used to heat households, as this saves the environment, money and time. Especially in Estonia, where pellets are the only local energy source whose use is fully automated, but it is a clean and 100 percent renewable type of heating.
Pellets have been used for heating for decades, but it is only during the last decade that pellet burners and boilers suitable for domestic use have been developed, which are comparable to both oil and gas boilers in terms of ease of use. Pellet heating is a reliable alternative to all common types of heating, including geothermal heating, because pellet heating has a relatively low construction cost and a reasonable price per kilowatt.

USING PELLETS IS ALSO A SMART WAY TO BE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY

Wood as a raw material for pellets is a renewable energy source and grows around us. As the raw material of pellets produced in Estonia is local wood, significantly less energy is used to bring it to the final consumer. There is no risk of environmental contamination during storage and storage of pellets. The amount of carbon dioxide emitted during the burning of wood is the same as that sequestered during the growth of the tree and would be released if the tree were left in the forest and rotted. As a result, the total ecological footprint is significantly smaller. Modern pellets are cylindrical rods with a diameter of 6 mm or 8 mm, which are produced using sawdust and shavings from the forest and wood industries. Residues from the wood industry are first crushed into uniformly sized pieces and then compressed into pellets. As Estonia is located in a forest zone, wood has been used and processed here for some time. As long as the wood is processed, sawdust and shavings are also produced, and pellets can always be produced.

QUALITY

Like all fuels, pellets are produced with different calorific values and ash content. In the case of pellets, these parameters depend mainly on the type of wood used and the technology used in production.
For market orientation, there is an internationally agreed ENplus standard: A1 - Premium, ie the highest quality and lowest ash content, and A2 and B - for industrial use. All manufacturers are certified, assigned a unique ID number and the entire production process is constantly monitored.
