What is a COB (Chips on Board) LED element? This is a new LED technology, where several LED chips are packed into one LED element and form one complete LED panel.
How does a COB LED element work? The COB LED element is a multichip panel, it can increase the luminous flux up to 10x compared to a traditional singlechip. The latest COB LED cells can produce 249lm/W @ 20mA, while traditional single LED cells can only reach 161lm/W @ 350mA. In other words, the larger the LED element becomes, the smaller the light flux emanating from it! At the same time, COB LED elements also consume significantly less energy.
